BRC Leo Harris Award 2014
Here is the criteria for the Leo Harris Award. All nominees should be approved by the National Rep for the Area and all nominees must have been active at both club and area levels to qualify for nomination. This information has also been included in Rider Magazine (spring 2014).
All nominees should be emailed or posted to the office no later than 6 June 2014.
Leo Harris Criteria
The Leo Harris award is presented annually to a Riding Club member who has given outstanding voluntary service to the movement over a period of years.
All nominees will have given many years of service to both their club and at Area level. It is desirable (but not essential) that they will have volunteered at some of the BRC Championships.
Each nomination should include a candidate resume consisting of at least 100 words detailing the candidate’s contributions on why they should be awarded this title and it is suggested the following format is used:
- Year service commenced
- Roles performed within the club/area
- How the individual has inspired others
Clubs should have their nomination endorsed by the club Chairman and then it should be forwarded to the National Representative for their Area. Once approved the Area Rep will send it to the BRC office for dissemination to the National Executive Committee.
All National Representatives will then be given the opportunity to cast a vote, the nomination with the most votes is awarded the Leo Harris Trophy which they are able to keep for a year. All unsuccessful candidates will receive the BRC Award of Merit Certificate.
The winner will receive their award at the BHS awards ceremony in November and will also be featured in Rider magazine.
The closing date for Head Office to receive any nominations is 6 June 2014.
