Iris Ege, local vet and acupuncturist, will be giving another illustrated talk on Anatomy and Movement on May 17th from 11am – 4pm. This will be the third in the series and will focus on resolving crookedness. All horses, (like people) are more or less one sided with a preferred way of standing and moving and this impacts on their balance, soundness and longevity. This lecture/demo combines Iris’ veterinary knowledge with practical schooling tips from Sue Nevill-Parker so that youcan recognise imbalance in the horse and understand how best to help it.

We have a cut off date for teddy collections – the 5th June. This is to allow us to pack and ship the teddies by the beginning of the following week. Shipment to Northern Syria takes around three weeks which means they arrive at the beginning of July in time for the end of Ramadan.
We’ve packed just over 3000 so now we need to increase our collections and I would ask that you tell your friends, children, teachers in fact everyone you can think of to help us reach our target of 10,000! Some people have put up collection boxes in their local shops and pubs. Teddies can be taken to Santander banks in Worcester, Malvern, Hereford, Leominster and Droitwich. Hereford Cathedral is also collecting and some of our schools and many of our churches. I know that Hereford Cathedral school have really made a huge effort and have given us literally hundreds of teddies, as has Lucton school, and several others are promising to match them!
We have HUGE thanks to give to Kevin Jones and KMB Shipping in Tipton who have very generously offered to ship the teddies to Syria for free! Also, DHL have offered to bring teddies to us in Kingsland and KIngspan Insulation have given us a very generous donation to help towards export/import duties and other costs associated with exporting. Mike and Sue Aubrey continue to support us with free storage down in Kingsland and when the sun is shining a team of us gets together packing with the help of coffee and chocolates!! Some of the teddies take a while to get into the boxes as they have to be passed round and cuddled first!! They are so gorgeous!
If you’re on Facebook please follow us at The Teddy Trust and send on the message. We have churches and schools in other parts of the country collecting for us and they are sending the teddies to Kingsland Post Office, Kingsland, Herefordshire HR6 9QS. For this we have Jean Barbour to thank. Jean tells me that quite a number of parcels have arrived over the last few weeks.
So you have just over four weeks left to send your cuddlies. Imagine the joy of a small, traumatised child receiving a precious teddy! Thanks to all those helping and supporting us – it can be done!
With our very best wishes,
Ellie and the Team!
